- Is OK2BX Foundation a nonprofit? OK2BX Foundation is a 501c3 corporation located in Dallas Texas.
- Are donations tax-deductible? Donations are tax-deductible
- Can I donate in honor or memory of someone? Yes, memorial donations are available at www.ok2bx.org/donate
- How can a business sponsor the festival? We welcome sponsorships for our festival. These sponsorships allow us to keep ticket prices and submission fees to a minimum - and make our festival accessible to all. Sponsorships can be submitted at https://pci.jotform.com/form/260306675484159
- How are donations used? Donations are used for the expenses of our film festival, for prize money at the festival, and for general operations of our foundation
Film Festival
- What is the OK2BX Film Festival? OK2BX Film Festival is a festival for high school filmmakers. OK2BX Film features short films created by talented high school students from around the world! The festival is designed to honor diversity and inclusivity.
- Who may submit a film? Limited to high school students (age 18 and below). Submissions may be made by sponsors/teachers on behalf of their students.
- Do filmmakers have to live in Texas? No, we welcome films from around the world.
- What types of films are accepted? All types of films are accepted.
- What is the maximum film length? 10 minutes
- Where and when is the festival held? The 2027 OK2BX Film Festival will be held at the Angelika Film Center is Dallas Texas. Festival date is April 10 2027.
- How are films selected? All films are screened upon submission. A selected number of the films will be presented to the judges who will score the films. From these scored films, festival management will select the films to be shown.
- What awards are presented? Best film – Animation, Best Film – Inclusivity, Best Film – Kindness, Best Film – Smartphone, Best Film – LBGTQIA+, Best Film - International, Most Extraordinary Film – Best of Show, and Spirit of Eleanor
- Do selected filmmakers need to attend? There is not an attendance requirement, but we encourage all filmmakers to come see their films on the big screen.
- How do I purchase tickets? Tickets will be available starting in February at www.filmfreeway.com/OK2BXFilmFestival
Film Submissions
- How do I submit a film? OK2BX Film Festival uses Film Freeway to handle submissions, judging, and ticket sales. Our festival is hosted at www.filmfreeway.com/OK2BXFilmFestival
- What is the submission fee? Entries fees are $10 per submission ($12 each for late submissions). There is an early bird discount ($2 per entry) until January 1, 2027.
- May teachers submit films for their students? Yes
- Who retains ownership of submitted films? The filmmaker retains ownership of the film. By submitting your film, you give OK2BX Film Festival the right to display your film. We may also use portions of the film in our promotional material in the future. This includes having your film on our YouTube channel and other social media.

Futures Lab
- What is the OK2BX Film Futures Lab? OK2BX Film Festival along with SMU present the FUTURES LAB during the day of the festival. This event has a College Fair where colleges from across the country come to talk about their film programs. There are also a series of Workshops & Panels that will aid the young filmmaker.
- Who may attend the workshops and college fair? The FUTURES LAB is open to everyone.
- Is advance registration required? Advance registration is not required but would be greatly appreciated.
Education Grants
- Does OK2BX Foundation offer grants? Yes. Each year, OK2BX Foundation awards renewable grants to graduating seniors. These grants are designed to help with expenses during college or training. They can also be used for expenses incurred in filmmaking.
- Who is eligible? We support young people who have demonstrated leadership in these areas and who have plans to continue promoting DEI in their life
- What expenses may filmmaker grants cover? Our grants are designed to help with the expenses surrounding education. They can also be used to offset some of the costs of creating films.
- How and when can students apply? Applications can be submitted https://form.jotform.com/230703526924050 until March 31st, 2027.
- Do applicants have to participate in the festival? No, but we encourage recipients to attend and be recognized for their good works.
Merchandise
- Where can I purchase OK2BX merchandise? Our store is located at www.OK2BX.org/shop. Merchandise is also available at the Film Festival.
- What is the return or exchange policy? Please let us know if you are not satisfied with the merchandise. We will either exchange your merchandise or get you a refund.
- What should I do if an item arrives damaged? Let us know and we will replace it.
- Does purchasing merchandise support the Foundation? Yes, proceed from our merchandise sales goes directly to the OK2BX Foundation and the OK2BX Film Festival.
Participation and Accessibility
- How can I volunteer? Volunteers are the heartbeat of the OK2BX Film Festival. Let us know if you are interested in volunteering by filling out the form at https://form.jotform.com/260265719214052
- Are films appropriate for all ages? Almost all of our films were created in high school film classes and must have the approval of the school’s administration. However, it is not a requirement that the films come from school programs – and the subject matter may be a bit much for our younger patrons. We will attempt to identify films that may be questionable – and communicate it so parents can make their own decisions.
